ODORI PARK

Odori Park runs for 1.5km from east to west right through the heart of Sapporo. Its beautiful gardens lined with flowers and trees are beloved by locals and visitors alike. The park is also a hub for many of Sapporo’s most iconic events, from the Sapporo Snow Festival in winter to vast German-style beer gardens in summer. With a huge array of seasonal events throughout the year, this area is a constant hive of activity.
Of course, no visit to Odori Park would be complete without some grilled corn on the cob from one of the local food carts. The moment the fresh corn harvested in Hokkaido hits the grill, the delicious aroma alone is sure to get your stomach rumbling. The play areas at 8 and 9 Chome are another popular spot for families where the sounds of children playing ring through the park throughout the summer months.
You can spend the day however takes your fancy, and taking the time for a leisurely stroll is highly recommended. At this relaxed pace, you can appreciate the sculptures that seem to blend seamlessly with their surroundings and take a break at the many benches and lawns throughout the park along the way. This is the perfect spot to switch off during your trip, refreshing your body and mind while basking in glorious sunshine.
